This is definitely the best thing to come from American TV. 24 and Lost are both brilliant, but the Sopranos wins hands down every time. I've watched all 6 series; they can be dark, gritty and gruesome, but also heart-warming, light hearted, funny. Not only is Tony Soprano portrayed as a ruthless mob boss, but also as a caring family man. You can't help but like the guy with all of his faults and misgivings. When I saw for sale all the episodes of M*A*S*H in one collection on this web site my memories went back to watching the original broadcasts all those years ago. I just had to buy the set to see if the series was as good as I remembered. It wasn't! It was much much better. How anyone could have produced 250 plus episodes of such consistent exceptional quality is beyond my comprehension. To have the audience constantly crying with sadness and lauging out loud in the same minute was the mark of genius. This was not just in the writing but the acting as well. There wasn't /isn't one poor episode.
